The award as one of the best Swiss winter hotels is probably one of the most wonderful pre-Christmas presents one could have wished for at the SchlossHotel. "The entire team is responsible for the constant success and this award belongs to all employees. They make sure that our hotel is what it is today," says owner Alex Perren happily. At the same time, the award confirms the investments made and the strategic path taken by the SchlossHotel.
With the decision to invest in the hotel during the Corona crisis, Alex Perren demonstrated courage that is now paying off. The investments included, first and foremost, structural renovations and expansions (rooms, suites and flats) as well as a further development of the hotel concept including repositioning as a wellness and activity hotel. In November 2020, the SchlossHotel then kicked off the winter season with a Swiss premiere: it opened Switzerland's first CBD spa in cooperation with "SwissCBD" (by Schibano Pharma Group AG), underlining its innovative vision for the wellness market of the future.
But the expansion was not enough: Alex Perren also decided to reposition the company. Together with the Swiss company Positioner, this was developed under the motto "Stay active. Stay well. The new spirit here encompasses "simply being", which describes the personalised and at the same time casual four-star superior service on site. But it also includes doing exactly what you feel like at the moment, without constraint. Simplicity, authenticity, warmth and dedication form the foundation of the new hotel cosmos. In order to feel really good, besides active enjoyment, there are also relaxing and regenerating components, such as those found in the CBD spa or in the fitness area with yoga room, where classes are held daily free of charge. The hotel also offers yoga retreats and boot camps in the summer.
The hotel ranking has been compiled for many years by Karl Wild and his team - consisting of 16 specialists from the hotel industry and tourism - who test all hotels themselves. The hotels are evaluated according to criteria such as hospitality, price-performance ratio or the quality controls of leading hotel associations. The ranking "The best 100 hotels in Switzerland" is published in the SonntagsZeitung and also in book form (Weber Verlag).
