Is it possible to request a specific room?
We always try to fulfill our guests' wishes; however we cannot guarantee this is possible on every occasion.
Can we bring our dog?
You are welcome to bring your dog with you. We are happy to provide food & water bowls as well as a dog basket in your room. A fee of CHF 15 per day will be charged. You can find further information at:
I would like to add a birthday / romantic surprise. Is that possible?
We are happy to prepare a small surprise in your room upon request. There is no extra charge.

Can I book without a credit card?
No, a credit card number is mandatory in order to make a reservation.
Should I take out travel cancellation insurance?
It is strongly recommended to take out travel insurance. Cancellations outside of the cancellation period are no longer possible free of charge.
What time is check-in?
Guaranteed check-in is from 3pm. If your room is ready for occupancy earlier, you may of course check in before 3pm. In any case, you may leave your luggage with us and make use of our changing rooms.
How does one travel to car-free Zermatt?
The train goes directly to car-free Zermatt. The journey by car ends in Täsch, 5km from Zermatt. You then continue by shuttle train or taxi to the resort at the foot of the Matterhorn. Further information at: https://www.zermatt.ch/en/arrival
Where can I park? Is a parking space reservation necessary?
The Matterhorn Terminal in Täsch offers 2,100 covered parking spaces. There are also over 1,000 parking spaces with private providers such as taxi companies and hotels.

How long is the front desk open? Can I also arrive in the evening?
The front desk is open from 6am to 11pm. The night manager will welcome you after 11pm.
Do you offer a pick-up service?
The SchlossHotel is located 50 metres from the train station. You can walk to it in two minutes. Upon request, we can pick you and your luggage up from the train station or taxi drop off with our electric car. Of course, free of charge.
Which airport is the closest to Zermatt?
Geneva and Zurich are the closest airports, approx. 3.5 hours travelling time. Milan Malpensa is also about 3 hours away - but onward travel is only possible by car or taxi. There is no suitable train connection
What time is check-out?
Check-out is 11am
Is it possible to have a late check-out? Is there an extra charge for this?
Please discuss this with the staff at the front desk. In the event that your room is not reoccupied, a late check-out is possible until 1pm. There is no extra charge.
Can I also use the spa on the day of departure?
You are very welcome to use the spa on the day of departure. There is no surcharge

Where exactly is the hotel located and what are the surroundings like?

On foot or by electric car– you can reach all destinations in the village quickly and easily, for example:
1 minute to the next bus stop (direction Matterhorn Glacier Paradise)

2 minutes to the Gornergrat station
5 minutes to the nearest Bike & Ski Rental stores
7 minutes to the Sunnegga-Rothorn station

Can I drink the tap water?
Zermatt's tap water consists of 100% pure spring water and is drinkable.
How big is the hotel?
The SchlossHotel consists of three buildings - SchlossHotel (main building), SchlossHouse (extension 2020) and the SchlossCottage (small chalet – 1 minute walk from the hotel).
In total the hotel has 56 rooms, suites & apartments
Where are the new SchlossHouse and the Cottage located?
SchlossHouse - was added in 2019/20. It is located behind the main building and is connected to the hotel by a passageway.
SchlossCottage - was converted from former hay barns into a holiday cottage in 2019/20 and is 1 minute walk from the main building. All the services and facilities of the hotel are included.
Rooms & Apartments - Are the rooms quiet or is traffic noise to be expected?
All of our rooms are in a very quiet location. Despite its central position, the SchlossHotel is not affected by traffic-related noise. Even the Gornergrat railway next door is not usually perceived as disturbing. In addition, all windows are soundproofed (triple glazing).
Which rooms have a view of the Matterhorn?
Our luxury suites, apartments and the penthouse have a guaranteed view of the Matterhorn. For all other rooms, Matterhorn view can be expressed as a request, however it cannot be guaranteed in advance.
Is there air conditioning in the rooms?
Thanks to the fresh mountain climate, we can do without air conditioning at the SchlossHotel.
Are the apartments also in the main building?
Yes, the apartments are also in the main building.
Are extra beds or baby cots provided? If so, what are the conditions?

All rooms are non-smoking. However, ashtrays are available on the balconies.

Yes, vegan alternatives are available.

You are welcome to inform us about your allergies in advance. Alternatives to gluten & lactose are available.
When is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served from 7am until 11am. You are also welcome to order breakfast to your room.
Is it possible to have lunch & dinner at the hotel?
No, we are a Garnihotel and therefore only offer breakfast. In the afternoon and evening you can enjoy light snacks in our bar however not a full lunch/dinner.
Are there any opening hours that need to be observed?
Pool: 6am to 11pm
Spa: 12 noon to 9pm
Fitness: 6am to 11pm
Can I still cancel my booked appointment at short notice?
A cancellation deadline of 24 hours in advance applies, after which 100% cancellation costs will be charged.
Can I use the spa and fitness as an external guest?
If you book a treatment for a minimum of CHF 120.-, you can use our SchlossSpa for an additional CHF 20 - including bathrobe, towels, slippers and refreshments.
A day's admission to the fitness costs CHF 35.-
Are bathrobes, slippers and sauna towels provided free of charge?
Yes, you will find bathrobes, slippers as well as sauna towels in the spa.
Is there a nude zone?
Yes, the entire sauna & steam bath area is a nude zone. Haman towels are available to wrap yourself in.
Are mobile phones allowed?
No, we kindly ask you to leave your mobile phone in your room or in the changing rooms.
Can our children come to the spa/fitness?
Pool: Children are welcome when accompanied by their parents.
Spa: Children are welcome from the age of 16
Fitness: Children are welcome from the age of 16.
Are the fitness courses free of charge? How do I register?
The fitness courses are free of charge for hotel guests; you can register at Sports Classes.
External guests are also welcome, CHF 35.- is charged per course.
