Fly like a bird to find a fresh perspective of Zermatt.
Paragliding is one of the village’s ultimate winter adventures.
“Inducing flow is about the balance between the level of skill and the size of the challenge at hand.” Nakamura et al., 2009
To find a FLOW state, and get back into balance, we need significant and interesting challenges that push and pull us.
Challenges that take us out of our comfort zone but don’t overwhelm us.
Paragliding is one such challenge.
Paragliding in Zermatt
Paragliding is when you take off from a mountain with your parachute already open. You then ride the air's currents through snow-capped hills and trees, taking in the views and skiers below before landing safely on terra firma.
The good thing about paragliding in Zermatt is that you don’t have to hike up a mountain, as is sometimes required. You simply take the cable lift up to the top and head out from there, with many different sites and routes available to you.
There are a number of companies who you can paraglide with - we can organise this for you - but whoever you’re with will give you a safety demo before putting you into the right equipment. You might have a few nerves but don’t worry. All the trainers and instructors are super friendly and know exactly how to put your mind at ease.
Once in the air, you’ll have a feeling of pure freedom as you start to touch the sky and come face-to-face with the Alps’ most iconic mountains.
